Jason Gogo's Heineken Art Collection
A black-tie venue with a DJ, some walnut oil and a bit of gold. Heineken is proud to introduce spectators to what's created when elegant style mixes with raw imagination. "The event was pure art," says Jason Gogo, creator of three original Heineken Art Collections. "Heineken basically gave me the tools to do my thing." His "thing" included a November 2007 exhibit at the Hotel Arts in downtown Calgary that invited viewers to experience his 100% organic paintings.
A local artist with an international reputation, Gogo describes himself as a guy who likes to make his own paint. When asked about his work, Gogo responds, "My artwork is about tethering my subconsciousness to the viewer's conscious thought... It needs to have minds in front of it in order for it to be something."
